AQ power dressing: Mr Yemi Edun

22 May 2018 //  by Bola Obanubi//  Leave a Comment

Chronicle of a power dresser:

Yemi Edun, MD, Daniel Ford & Co.

by AfricanaQ

Yemi Edun is the Managing Director and Founder of Daniel Ford International and has worked in the international property market since 1998. Daniel Ford International has grown over the years to become one of the leading global property acquisition consultancies. He has successfully sourced and acquired over £500m of residential property for international clients. www.danielforduk.com

Suit by Gieves & Hawkes

I have gone through all the designer labels over the years including off the peg suits, but I soon realised that in order to be taken seriously in my business you have to go bespoke. I deal with a number of international clients and the expectation is that I am well suited and booted because I believe that ’first impression is always everlasting’. But I also like to be creative with my suits, and going bespoke allows me to do that.

Shirt by Thomas Pink

I believe a shirt must be simple and classy. I am not restricted by colour because I like to experiment with different shades, though my preference is with solid colours. My shirts are always slim fitted with cut away collar. This is my view compliments the tie. I like Thomas Pink because of its high quality shirts at a reasonable price. I go through quite a lot of shirts in a year, as I regularly dispose of them (by donating to charity)

Tie by Polo Ralph Lauren (Purple Label)

To me everyman must wear a good tie with a good suit. I own quite a large collection of ties, but Polo Ralph Lauren remains my favourite, because of how the colour is pronounced and the texture is smooth.

Shoes by Tods

I love tods because of how soft the leather feels. The softness of the leather is important for me, because I spend the majority of my day visiting sites (we also do property renovations) and clients. I tend to keep my shoes conservative, but for me comfort, practicality and style always required.

Pocket square by Hermes

A pocket square is one of the requirements of a gentleman in suit. I always get complimented on this classic part of my dressing

Hat by Lock & Co.

My hat defines my dressing. I have been wearing hats now for over 10 years. They add class to my dressing, but they also come in as practical when I go to Ascot
